Ecology, conservation, nature restoration
15 years as a professional conservation ecologist in the private sector and for conservation charities.
My career focus has been on implementing biodiversity action plans, which entails habitat mapping, conducting baseline ecological assessments, writing and overseeing habitat restoration and enhancement. Working on both small and large-scale wildlife conservation projects has deepened my understanding of balancing human-led interventions with natural processes.

My background and experience in wildlife and landscape management, particularly for airports, has culminated in a unique insight in safeguarding airport operations whilst maintaining high levels of biodiversity. In 2014 I facilitated Gatwick Airport achieving the The Wildlife Trust’s Biodiversity Benchmark Award and retaining it every year since. I have an intimate working knowledge of the CAA CAP 772 and aerodrome habitat regulations and am experienced in bird strike and wildlife hazard management. Over the years I have developed strong relationships with airport stakeholders, external organisations and wildlife conservation bodies, raising awareness of Gatwick’s sustainability commitments.
